It was agreed at the October 2018 Council Meeting that, as of January 2019, Exotic and Persian kittens can no longer be registered using the Genetic Register.
This means that any Persian or Exotics being registered with Actice Breeding Status must be DNA tested for Polycystic Kidney Disease (PKD) and their results, complete with microchipnumber, submitted to the GCCF Office by email or post.
Alternatively, kittens can be registered as Active provided that they come from two parents who have both been tested as PKD negative, and that the GCCF Office has their PKD results on record.
If you have any Exotics or Persians that you are planning to breed from in the near future then please feel free to send their results in, and their records will be updated accordingly. This includes any cats that are already registered as Active that you are planning to breed from in the future.
Please remember that any DNA results submitted that do not have the cat’s microchip number on will not be accepted.
